This teaser trailer of Saw 6 does not really fit under some of the standard conventions of a movie trailer.
- The movie does initiate the genre of the movie well by using low key lighting, scenes of a horrific nature and also has background noise such as screaming.
- The name of the movie is shown at the end of the trailer.
- There are no production values shown on the movie trailer apart from two companies that have backed the movie.
- The trailer targets it's audience by using clips that are on the verge of something happening so the audience will be interested and will go to see the film to find out what happens.
- The music in this trailer has a very intense build up and gradually gets louder. The use of drums make the beats sound like a fast heart beat and then the violins come in to give it an intensity.
- There is no voice over but there is dialogue in the movie of the victims, we know this because they are generally screaming and shouting in a panicky way.
This teaser trailer for Alice in Wonderland fits every convention of a movie trailer.
- The genre of the movie is shown as being a fantasy movie but it is also shown as having a bit of a sinister twist.
- The name of the movie is shown during the trailer in a distorted curly gold font.
- There are loads of production values shown throughout this trailer the first one is at the very start when it is shown that Tim Burton is the director, this gives us a better recognition of understanding the film to have a sinister twist much like his other films such as "The nightmare before christmas"; Other production values are shown such as actors names eg Johnny Depp.
- The target audience for this film I think may be all ages really because : 1. It is aimed at young children through the fact that it is a Disney film. 2. Teenagers and young adults will enjoy this because it isn't a straight forward disney film and it looks visually interesting and 3. This film will appeal to the older generation because this film is a well known old Disney film and adults may be interested to see the comparison between the old movie and the new remake.
- The music is very emotive; It starts with a very light hearted tune when Alice is running through the woods and as soon as she goes through the hole the music becomes a lot faster and gradually louder and the music during the voice over is quite a calming fantasy type tune which then in turn gets gradually faster again towards the end of the trailer.
- There is a voice over on this trailer and the voice used is a very soft male voice but it's the type of voice that entices you to listen; The voice over tells us a very short story about the film it's almost as if you are listening to him reading a story book. There is only a few pieces of dialogue throughout the trailer which you could easily place within the film.
This is the teaser trailer for the Disney Pixar movie UP; UP fits nearly all of the conventions of a movie trailer.
- The genre is shown clearly as being an animated childrens film, we know this from the use of animation and the fact that it is a Disney Pixar film.
- The name of the movie is shown at the end of the teaser trailer in a way that makes it look like a cloud.
- The production values of this trailer are shown at the begining of the trailer when we are told that Disney Pixar is the maker of the film and also there are lots of different clips merged together from other films that have also been produced through Disney Pixar.
- The target audience is mainly young children but older fans of Disney films will also be targeted, this is mainly because Disney is aimed at children but the older fans have grown up watching Disney films.
- The music is very twinkley and has quite a magical sound to it but it also starts off as being quite fast paced to reinact the excitement that it wants you to feel and then we hear a long build up until we eventually come to an exciting heroic sort of music towards the end.
- There is a voice over on the trailer which is a soft male voice. At the begining he starts off by telling us about Disney Pixar "taking us on an adventure" and he makes it sound like a story and then he goes on to tell us about Carl Fredrickson and that it's his adventure that we will be going along with this time. There are only a few piece of dialogue on this trailer from the movie characters.
- The genre of the movie is shown as a horror, this is shown to us through the first few clips of the audience scared and screaming and also the couple in the movie being scared also.
- The name of the movie is shown at the very beginning on some information saying “The audience was among the first to experience the movie Paranormal Activity”, it is also shown on quotes from big companies describing it and giving their star rating or opinion etc and it is shown at the end of the movie in a proper scattery, flickery sci-fi font.
- There is only one production value which is shown at the start when we see the audience viewing the movie the introduction says Paramount and the Paramount logo is shown at the very end of the trailer too.
- The target audience for this film is definitely people who like horror movies and teenagers and older people; I think this because the movie looks very scary and even made me jump when watching it so it wouldn’t be suitable for the easily scared or young children.
- There is no main music but there is use of sound effects such as beating drums to maybe imitate a heartbeat.
- There is a voice over on this trailer but the main source of dialogue is from the two characters on screen discussing the happenings in the house and we also hear the audience screaming on parts of the trailer.

- There is a couple of production values, at the beginning we are shown “Lonesome Highway Productions” and “Black Orchid Entertainment”.
- The target audience for this film is anybody that likes a traditional horror plot e.g. A group of teenagers go somewhere, something starts going wrong, they get killed off one by one. etc.
- There is no main music but there is use of sound effects such as screams, banging etc to create a scary and jumpy atmosphere.
- There is a voice over on the beginning of this trailer but it sounds like one of the characters that is speaking and the main source of dialogue is from the characters within the movie and this is mainly screaming, calls of help and at the very end a male character saying “ Your fear will kill you”.
